38 Week Pictures

Our friend Lexi volunteered to take some pictures for us last week! I guess we could call them "Maternity" pictures. I have seen some couples do some funky shots and awkward poses, so I wanted this to just be casual and cute. We went to the Beach (and faced lots of wind..) and we went to a local Lake to take some more shots. Here are a few of our favorite ones...

39 Weeks!

Our weekly visit to Dr. Shakr brought us a bit of annoying news!  Apparently I am still only 1cm dilated and my cervix isn't all that ready for the baby (the doctor last week was being generous with measurements apparently).  He hasn't even "dropped" yet, but is in the right position for the birth.  If nothing happens up until Tuesday we will go in for stress tests and an ultrasound on Wednesday, followed by a meeting with the doctor to discuss induction. He estimates Timothy J is over 8LBS now!  WE ARE SOOOOO READY!!!!!!!!

Timothy J's Room

We still have to get a bedding set for the crib, but the room is nearly complete and we are all set for his arrival!

5.22.09

I had another check with Dr. Champion (who I'm getting to like, despite a rough first meeting) and apparently my BP was a fluke the other day and my labs and readings were fine.  I am still between 1-2 cm dilated and my cervix is fully prepared.

No symptoms of pre-eclampsia as of now. Although I'm having some awesome foot and ankle swelling lately, partly due to the heat this last week and probably not keeping them elevated at work.  I plan to continue work until this week, most likely until Wednesday and call it quits for 6-7 weeks, I will most likely return mid July.  Getting up in the AM is getting harder, due to my sleepless nights and unusual sleep intervals.  I am terribly uncomfortable-he has grown so much in the last few weeks!

We have our bag packed, and we are anxiously awaiting something to happen.  We have our phone calls lined and up and birth plan in place.  I feel confident that it will be a great experience for T.J. and I-Timothy J will be worth the wait!

5.20.09

1CM dilated and my cervix is dropping........!!!!!!  Although, I have symptoms of "Preeclampsia" I am doing fine.  I will be going back on Friday for another dilation check and blood pressure check.

Pre-eclampsia (US: preeclampsia) is a medical condition where hypertension arises in pregnancy (pregnancy-induced hypertension) in association with significant amounts of protein in the urine.

37 week check-up

18 Days to go!

My doctor visit on Tuesday went well..Timothy J is getting ready for his entrance into the world.  I am 50% effaced and my cervix is really soft.  Good sign of my body getting ready I guess, I'm half way there! My tummy feels lower and I have had a lot of pressure on my pelvis and trouble getting out of bed pain-free lately.

I get sporatic braxton-hicks contractions that make me stop and pause, but nothing thats really made me scared yet.  Dr. Shakr thinks we still have a little time left, but it will be soon! My next visit is on Thursday of next week so we will see what has progressed on that day.

36 Weeks

We only have a few weeks to go, can you believe it! The anxiety isn't to bad lately since we have most everything ready for Timothy J's arrival. Clothes are washed, bassinet is all set...etc.

This week brings: swollen legs/feet, a total "weeble" feeling, pressure and tightness of the abdomen, and random bitchyness. I have been tired most days and its honestly a struggle to wake up every morning and head to work with a smile on my face. I have the waddle down pat and I am wearing the same pants pretty much everyday...(awesome!). My coworkers and friends are rather anxious to get "the call" and we are ready to finally meet our little man!

My last doctor visit went well...I have gained 17LBS, which I believe is all belly and hips. He is still in the birthing position and has yet to drop down for his final decent. Blood pressure is good and everything is on schedule. I have my 37 week check on Wednesday so we can see if there is any sign of his soon to be arrival.

The Mural

The mural is finally finished! T.J. changed up a few things and made it his own creation. I can't wait to get the crib up and see how the room will flow together.. We still have to put the quote up on the wall too.

34 weeks

As you can see I had a bad day before taking this picture...lets just say I am starting to not feel so hot these days and I am looking forward to being able to bend over and tie my shoes again.

We have started to try and put the room together..despite missing major baby essentials. Bottles & bottle gear, Diaper Genie, Crib Bedding, and a Swing are on our top priority list. Thank goodness for coupons... We will most likely be hitting up stores this week to get our necessities!

We are completely set with blankets and clothing for up to 6-9 months. Hopefully these next few weeks will not go by to fast and allow us to prepare for everything.

Crying Subaru

The short story:

A dumbass hit my car in the BORDERS Bookstore parking lot last week. He was arguing with a guy that cut him off and didn't look up in time to see me backing out of my space. He was nice and quick to give me all his info and take blame....but my car is officially trashy looking on the right side. Damages are around $3535.00! I cannot wait to get it fixed!
As a precaution for even a minor accident you should go to your doctor, and apparently my blood pressure was really high, which caused concern and I was sent to the hospital for 5 hours of monitoring. We got to see Timothy J in an ultrasound so it wasn't to annoying! I did get a taste of the birthing unit triage, and the experience at South Shore Hospital should be a good one in the near future.

33 Weeks

Thankfully I am expanding in the front, and not in the back! Timothy J is rather active, despite running out of room more and more each day.

Nielsen Eye Center Baby Shower!

My fellow co-workers put on a wonderful baby shower for me Monday afternoon! They were so thoughtful with all of their baby ideas, goodies, and gifts. I received many baby essentials, receiving blankets, goodies bags, clothes and baskets...to many things to mention! Everyone in the office pitched in to contribute to a "money tree" for us. We decided to take that money and start a savings account for Timothy J. We are so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives!

Here a few pictures...there were to many to post!! :)

Shonie Kodak Moment #2

Shonie has found a new bed. Its the bottom of a bottled water package..and we dare take it away from him, he is just to darn cute when he sleeps!!

32 Weeks

We had our 32 Week visit today with Dr. Shakr....we sure love that guy!!! My weight gain is 14LBS to date and my blood pressure/weight are right on target and "excellent". Timothy J is over 3LBS, heart rate in the 140's and is apparently very fiesty. I have been having alot of Braxton Hicks contractions and cramping, so he checked my cervix just in case. Everything is still good in there and he even felt his head (weird!).

We discussed Dr. Shakrs on call availability, unfortunately its not a guarantee that he will deliver for us, so we still have to meet a few doctors just in case we don't end up with him.

As far as mom goes...I have been wicked tired and heartburn has become my new best friend. I wake up every night between 2-3am for a massive pee-pee. Timothy J has discovered my ribs--which I found is a really good motivation for good posture. My mood swings are awful and I am missing the compassion gene while I am at work..poor patients. :( My fellow co-workers have been wonderful with me and have also discovered my belly for daily baby rubs.

55 Days to go....and it sure is intimidating!!

Thoughts....

Notes to self:

1. Must buy slip on shoes!
2. DO NOT overeat--this makes the rest of the day completely miserable.
3. It's okay if things are not perfect now...we still have a few weeks to fix things.
4. I WILL be a good mom, despite my doubts!!!
5. Embrace the tummy kicks...even though they hurt at times.
6. Sleeping on my stomach is a thing of the past, deal with it.
7. Yes, I have more cellulite, its not my eyeballs hallucinating.
8. Eat the fruit Timothy J is craving!
9. Let people rub your belly, it brightens their day!
10. Allow people to pick things up for you-don't be a hero.
11. It's OK to be scared.
12. Patience...patience....MUST HAVE PATIENCE.
13. Enjoy my sleep...every minute of it.
14. Breathing out of my left nostril is a thing of the past...welcome fluid retention!

31 Weeks

31 Weeks has arrived and we have begun the countdown! A bit of anxiety has set in (just for me) and a newfound belly discomfort. I have shown you the belly...and bared most of it! Enjoy!

28 Weeks

As you can see...I have someone living with me. He has made his presence known everyday and there is no hiding him anymore! With the 28th week I am feeling drained, puffy and sleepless! I pee a little much for my liking and I find myself eating alot and getting fuller quicker. Sleeping has become an issue, as I wake up to this little man tumbling around and kicking me if I am not in a position to his liking!

Other than that, I have been feeling good and anxious to meet him. We will start putting the nursery together and painting our mural within a few weeks. T.J. is sketching out something really amazing..I can't wait to start working on it all!

Onto other good news, my mom is definitely coming in early June and she may have my sister and Afton joining her!! I am so excited!!!!!!!!

Poker for Pampers Party!

I put together a Poker for Pampers party this past weekend for Cheryl and I! I must say it went great! We sure have some great friends and family here! We had our friends come and play in a Poker tournament for cash $$$-the only key thing was they needed to bring some diapers or wipes for the moms-to-be! We had a fairly good turn out and walked away with a good amount of goodies!

Here are some pictures..

A Shonie Kodak Moment..

I really love my cat...especially when he is sleeping and not being obnoxious! I couldn't resist posting this cute picture of him sleeping.

25 Weeks

25 Weeks Preggo brings............crying, sleeplessness, worry, anxiety, hunger (for crap), dehydration.....and a longing for sleep. But despite these icky things, we get to feel and see our little guy move around more and more each day. He is mainly active in the evenings and late nights (uh-oh) but each time he gets playful we just sit back and enjoy it. I only wish everyone could see and feel him!

Registering Adventure

We made it out yesterday to go complete our Baby Registry! We set up registries at both Target and BabysRUs..both places of course had similar deals on things and extremely cute items to choose from! T.J. enjoyed the zapping role with the scanner, while I wondered around checking stuff out. It was an overwhelming day--I realized just how much stuff you need to complete a nursery! It's unbelievable! Thank goodness for Hand-Us-Downs.. :)

V-Day Love

T.J. suprised me at work with some roses before our date to The Melting Pot in Boston! They sure smelled great and looked beautiful! I love my husband!

I wanted to make some "Love" Pancakes for my hubby...and here is how they turned out! Not to bad for a first timer!

Mango-Zig!

FYI: He is the size of a mango this week--and boy do I sure feel it! Our little guy has grown quite the active one...moving and groovin around inside my tummy. We came up with a new game the other night...it's called the "Channel Changer Game". I place the changer on my tummy while watching t.v. and he rocks and rolls it around-it keeps us entertained! I will attempt to get video of it soon.
